powerglide to 350 trans questions
 
im changing the powerglide to a 350 trans in the camaro.will the flywheel that is on the engine now work with the 350 trans?anything else i should be aware of?i know the 350 isnt the greatest but till funds get rite itll have to do

the car is a small block ,if that matters

It's a straight bolt in swap, if I remember correctly. I think all you need is a converter and a new kickdown cable, and the dipstick. I think all the other measurements are the same.

you are correct, super easy swap. Crossmember, driveshaft and yoke, etc. all work. You will need to mod the shifter to get low gear, or buy a shiftworks conversion for your stock shifter, or most any cable type aftermarket shifter will work.

all went well/very easy swap.i need a shifter and a flywheel cover.thank you everyone.my trans just has the nub coming out the side for the gear selector.what type of linkage attaches it to the shifter?what and where can i buy the part?

What type of shifter are you going to use? They make universal linkage kits.

If you are going to use a stock type shifter, that bracket that attatches to the trans can be found in almost any wrecking yard or tranny shop. If you are going aftermarket shifter, most come with a bracket and cable set up. Let us know how it goes.:cheers:
