My own custom fender braces for a 69 Camaro *PICS!*
i bought stock the other day, 1/4" 6061 aluminum, cadded a template of my 3 choices, and... well take a look..
I laid card out 1.75 wide, and made a template to get exact angles i need, and also easier to see what it would look like playing with each angle. http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...9/DSC00911.jpg then, cadded up some templates based on my specs, made a few designs and picked which one i liked best.. http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...969/fender.jpg made template to size, printed it and mocked it up http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...9/DSC00915.jpg transferred the paper to the stock http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...9/DSC00919.jpg my new toy for 90$ lol http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...9/DSC00920.jpg drilled my holes http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...9/DSC00923.jpg cut and sanded to brushed steel, started with 260-400-600 grits, matches my radiator http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...9/DSC00927.jpg right before mounting http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...9/DSC00932.jpg dont mind my engine bay, super dusty! |
Fender Braces
Good Work!!! Do You Think It Will Have Enough Material Left To Actually Do Some "bracing"?
|
Looks good so far! How are you going to finish it on the fender itself?
|
i have brackets that will mount on the existing fender and screw in the original brace holes
|
Thats the way to do it

Very cool my man.
Good going! |
