rear end width
 
If i Minim tub my rear end to run 12" wheels will the rear have to be shortened 50" flange to flange ( 72 Chevy Nova)? TIA:lateral:

Depends on what back spacing you want for the rear wheels. Just because you mini-tub a car doesn't mean you have to narrow the rear end...you basically do that to have more dish (less b.s.) on the wheel. For instance on Jackass it might actually have a wider than stock rear end...look at how much b.s. his wheels have.

The best way to do it is to buy the wheels with the look (b.s.) you want, mock them up (with tires mounted) and then measure for the rear end width.

Wheels and tires first - then cut the rear end (or not) to match...

50 is a good width for a 6" BS on a 12" wheels if they would fit in the tubs. but I think your limited for 315s and i would be looking at 11s personally.

Listen to awr68! We deal with this all the time. Its a lot easier to build the wheel to the look you are trying to achieve, than measure up the rear and have it cut to length. I could through a bunch a numbers at you as far a backspacing goes, but I would rather figure out what you looking for first.
