Aeromotive A1000 question
 

I just ordered a aeromotive 20 gallon stealth fuel cell with the a1000 in the cell. I'm running a street setup carb'd BBC that is 600/600. I'm curious if I can run the pump minus a voltage controller aeromotive #16306. It's not a drag car and typically goes for extended drives.

Unless you get them upgraded for alchohol use, I wouldn't run one with pump gas.

I'm no expert and really can't tell you the benefits of using the voltage regulator or the negatives of not using it. What I can say is, before selling my BBC to install my LS, I ran an A1000 with no voltage regulator on a carbed 509 c.i. motor with nearly the same hp/tq numbers as you with no problems. None at all and put about 2k on the motor with the A1000 in 2 years without a single problem. I plan on using it in with my LS swap too. So, I would say yes thru the process of elimination.:yes: But again, I'm nobody. I'm just sharing my personal experience and hope this helps.

Tha's way over kill for that engine. I'd run a pump controller if it was me. I NEVER have any luck with taking chances.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm trying to buy once for a change. I ran a billet holley hp 150(which turned out to be a 125......don't get me started.) The holley took a dump..... My plan is to install a relatively small procharger this winter. I figure I'll run an over kill pump so i don't have to upgrade the fuel system again this winter.

That makes perfect sense. I'd still run the controller.

You are right Todd. Relatively speaking it's the nickel and dime stuff that I always hym and haw over.

I quit doing that a while ago. :rofl: Seriously though, you will feel better when you get out in the middle of nowhere knowing you did it the right way.
