Swap out front springs going to lighter motor?

Looking at switching to an all aluminum BBC from my all iron boat anchor currently in the car. I am running 2" Hotchkis drop springs currently. With the weight savings going to aluminum block, heads, intake, will I need to switch to a small block spring to maintain my front stance?

if i remember correctly thats what i was told. with the weight savings of an all aluminum bbc it is close to the weight of a sbc. may want to look into coil overs to adjust them

If you are happy with the current stance of the car, switching from the Hotchkis BB spring, which is designed for a cast iron head, to the Hotchkis small block kit would be a wise move. Since switching the springs is not a terribly difficult thing, and since we generally have those parts in stock, as do our distributors, you could always do the engine swap and see what you think of the handling and stance.
