65 mustang and the AJE front strut suspension q's

Ok so I have a few questions regarding the aje front suspension kit for my 65 mustang. The first is, what wheel options does this kit allow me to run? Also does anybody know the height adjustability? How is the overall handling of one of these cars with this kit? Another thing is I have complete 94/95 spindles with cobra brakes and matching front struts along with a 95 GT steering rack. From what I've read this is all usable, am I correct? Any first hand knowledge or insight is appreciated- Thanks, Nick

I had never heard of AJE until you mentioned it, but they look like they only manufacture components for drag racing. Not sure how well their setup would "turn."

I don't know how serious you want your car to handle, or how much you want to spend so I'll just throw out the manufacturers that I know of who make "pro-touring" suspensions.

Chris Alston
Global West
TCI
Gateway Classic Mustangs
Agent 47 Racing
Art Morrison
JME Enterprises
Maier Racing

Of these manufacturers, some are more widely known than others, but I think all have good products. Some are way more expensive and their prices reflect the quality of shocks, etc. used. For example, JME and Agent 47 make front suspensions with the intention of running their cars in NASA, etc. their stuff costs upwards of $7000 (I think).

as for the tire question, without modifications, I believe the largest tire you can fit is a 225 or so.

Hope that helps a little,

Matt

Hmmm....new stang expert!

Hey Matt, I see you responding to a few Mustang posts lately and I remember a brief comment about a project? Just a wild guess here...any news you want share?

(PS -JME and Maier look like some of the baddest stuff on the planet)

Let's just say I've been quite distracted by a little '65 fastback that Mark (of Lateral-Dynamics fame) decided to sell a month ago. It has been dubbed the Super Secret Project, although it really isn't much of a secret.

I knew it Bro. Mark listed it and poof! He never said who bought it...

I guess that RCR Ford GT will have to wait...

Baggins,

Well, that would rule out Chris Alston, Global West, Agent 47 and Gateway...

you could always go with something Mustang II based.

Couple more questions, what is your budget, and what is your timeframe?

Matt
