pump or regulator?

to cut it short ive got too much fuel pressure. im not sure weather to get an internally regulated fuel pump (mechanical) or a just add a fuel pressure regulator. the regulator is less then half the cost of the pump but i may have to run a return line.

its not a racecar, i dont even take it to open track days. but i am looking for some good ricer smokin power so i need 6 psi instead of the 7-9 im getting. which do you guys think is better?

pump im looking at is Edelbrock 1721

several companies make similar pumps, they work well for the 550-600 hp range and under.

You don't need a return line with a non bypass regulator. I would pick up a deadhead regulator like http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AEI-13205/ . The 13205 gives you adjustability. If your pump isn't causing any issue other than the pressure being slightly high then this would fix you up.
