148K = Someone got a great deal on that car...

camcojb 01-20-2006 10:12 PM

I should have hung onto the car a bit longer! :D

yeah someone got a deal and someone is crying on the other end . Is the rumor true that is just recently sold for $170,000 from stuart , and now the new owner tried to make some money but lost $22,000 plus the 8% ????????

I figured it would only do $110 , guess i was wrong , and alot of others were also !!

Speedster 01-20-2006 10:18 PM

I would have liked to see it drive in, but it was already on stage when they came back from commercial break. Probably scared half the bidders standing close by...

Hey, just remember Jody, you always have that other "little" Camaro project...

148? Was that with or without the premium?

I guess either way I was about 20k short with my guess here. About normal for me....lol

Yep and the seller lost about $11k off that.. plus transport. So he cleared around $137k .. I know he paid more for it than that.

The buyer paid around $160k.. about what the seller originally paid for it.

8% is a lot of $$$ when you get into the big buck cars..

so Bill ? when you selling the goat ? your offer at SEMA was a nice one huh?

Nobodys crying, the seller is happy with that amount. The numbers being thrown about that he paid are not correct, he basically got his investment back minus the 8% commission. Plus he got to enjoy the car for a year.

He did not buy the car for an investment, he bought it because he thought it was cool.

I think it's cool that a well-built pro touring car can bring big bucks when it's a number-matching nothing. And I can build that car for less than it sold for, so technically I could make money building these, at least at that example.

By the way, you didn't answer me on the other site, what can you build the Aluminator for?

LOL, did not build to sell quite this fast. I do have the SEMA offer and the Daytona offer ( both standing offers) in the can, but just not enough yet. I am waiting to see if the recent ink helped any. :unibrow:
If I truely had built to sell, no doubt with the magazine coverage on the stands, it should have been in Scottsdale this weekend, but just not what I was after. Let me get thru Year One experience, Power Tour, Columbus Goodguys, Woodward, etc, this year, then we will see what the market will bear..
