QA1 ride height difference
I just installed a QA1 coilover setup in my 69 Firebird. I ensured that both sides were exactly 5 threads up from the bottom of the shock as a starting point.
The problem is that the R side is almost 1/2" lower than the L side when I measure. What could cause this?? Before I adjust to correct the height difference...will it negatively affect things if the right is up 8 threads from the bottom and the L only 5 threads?? |
was it correct prior to installing the QA1's?
make sure the spring is seated correctly up inside the top pocket on the sub frame. that will do it. there is a tapered pocket for the spring up in there. |
It was perfect before. The springs are correctly seated too...that was my first thought

Forgive my ignorance (especially on a first post), but isn't one of the benefits of the adjustable coilovers that you can even out small differences in ride height from one side to the next?

Switch the springs from side to side to see if the problem is the spring or the car. It is possible that an inexpensive spring could vary in height and/or load capacity by that much.
