new project / 5.3 w/doug nash 5-spd/67 camaro
Looking for some advice . I have a 67 Camaro, stock subframe, I would prefer not to cut on the floor pan (maybe unavoidable ). I want to install a 5.3 engine with a doug nash 5-speed. I have two different scattershields. Stock camaro throw out position and 62-67 chevy II position . The difference being the position of the hole for the throwout bearing arm. I think I want to install a hydraulic throwout bearing , Is this doable, Is this the best way to go....???? Eventually I want to step up the horsepower ...550 to 600 , is this the way to go. I own the 5-speed already, a Tremec doesnt fit the budget. The nash has a vasco jet mainshaft already. Is there any thing I'm missing here, any thoughts, any suggestions.

Another thing I havent thought about is input shaft length .....? Difference there I assume ...? Also neither of the scattershields have a mount for a hydraulic slave cylinder .... I would think it could be added , does anyone make a kit to add it or is a fab item only ? What are people using for a master cylinder and mount ? I've seen the Dse bracket . Is that the way to go ? I'm sure I am forgetting some things and I will have more questions ......Any help is greatly appreciated.

Anyone ever used this combo .....?

I've used a chevy doug nash with a tilton trans-mounted hydraulic throwout bearing with SBC and ford motors. The measurement from the transmission face to the clutch fingers will tell you if that would work for you.
Good luck |
Anyone else have any more thoughts ... opinions or experience with this combo ????
