UCA hardware question
1 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys. I am putting my new suspension together this weekend and I am changing out the hardware to grade 8 stuff. I noticed that the bolts that the upper control arms slide on to, have splines just under the bolt head (I assume to prevent it from spinning - see attached pic).
Do I have to use this type of bolt for the replacement or will a regular grade 8 hex bolt be ok? Thanks |
You're correct, the reason they have splines is so the bolts won't rotate in the hole. You can use regular bolts but if you have stock upper control arms, it makes it harder to tighten down or change the alignment as you have to use two wrenches instead of just one on the locking nut side.
Hope that helps. -Joe |
Thanks, Joe.
