How to approximate section width bulge / stretch without mounting tires?

Hey Guys, I'm trying to stuff 10.5" wheel running a 295/35/19 BFG KDW2 tire in the rear of my Chevelle. I'm concerned about section width bulge since I am tight to both sides of the wheel well.

For a 295/35 on a 10.5" wheel the width is 11.9"

For a 285/35 on a 10" wheel the width is 11.6"

Do you know of a way to approximate a 285/35 on a 10.5" wheel? I'm hoping to get closer to 11" section width.

Unless you've got a typo above, any tire on a wider wheel is going to have a wider cross section. If a 285/35 on a 10" wheel is 11.6", a 285/35 on a 10.5" wheel is going to be about 11.8".

The rule of thumb (at least as pronounced on the Tirerack site) is a 0.2" change in cross section for each 0.5" change in wheel width.
