1970 Firebird sail panels...

Are there reproduction quarters with sail panels available for these cars? I couldn't find any in either the Classic Industries or Year One catalogs, not even the sail panels alone.

you should be able to find that used oem, i would prefer buying that section oem as you know it will fit right in, its very high off the ground, so getting a nice rust free one should be easy. you only need the outer skin correct?

Yup, the floors and inner panels are perfect!
I think you're right, after looking through some posts about reproduction body panel problems a used OEM piece might be my best bet...

I had a vinyl roof car and mine had a fair amount of rust in the sails. I had my sheetmetal guys fab some up, but I wish I would have sourced a donor car to cut the piece out of. I will probably have to do that anyway as it will be hard to body work the one they fabbed up. It didn't come out as good as I had hoped.

currently only 80% skins available for 70-73 firebirds which I am suprised to still see. tail panels were just released last year and if you can find an NOS quarter, expect to pay nearly $2k for it.

Yikes!
I'll look for a donor piece, I'm starting to suspect this was originally a vinyl-top car as the roof is good and I only found mud on the lower part of the sail, where the pins for the trim would be. I'll be getting it blasted soon, all the secrets will be revealed!

In a worse case deal you could stitch a 74 replacement panel sail section into the existing panel.... Not a great option,,, but at least it's an option....

I haven't seem a replacement for a '74 anywhere, can you recall where you found one? And is there any difference other than the last 6" of the rear?
