Every screw, nut, bolt, trim piece, etc is all brand new. This by far not the way to build a car. The nickle and dime parts really eat you up. This also does not include sheetmetal

Thats one hell of a list. But that is a good idea to keep track of all the costs. Even though the total may be a little shocking, at least you know it, and it can help for next time or for others to find ways to cut costs here and there.

I tried keeping an excel model of my costs when I first got my car, but it didnt turn out so organized.

yeah I have every receipt, shipping document, etc. I know everything about this car, I assembled, I bought the parts, and I did it all!! I was really hoping to keep the build under the $25K, but I threw in a 5 speed, then came 9", then big brakes, you know it just rolled down hill from there. Oh well , looks like the price tag will be $50K if someone wants it now!!

as a matter of fact I am still there. My list is long and expensive as well, you still have a ways to go to catch me as I really did it the long and expensive way...replace every panel with GM NOS stuff, etc

I did not see a motor in you list or did I just get lost in the numbers. LOL

I just made an order to jegs the other day..........950$$ and it all was in 1 box........ :(

Like you said alot of things are missing from the list. Makes you want to flash the the list like this when the guy at a car show walks up and sais " I can build this car for 30K".

yeah this is all the out of pocket cost so far!! The motor has been sitting on a stand in my shop for a little over a year jsut waiting to go in something!! If I add in the motor and other stuff I used I already had we'd be over $45K already

Stuart I was that guy. When you bought the red 68 I was really considering selling my 69 project to buy it, I was thinking, hey for the sales price mine would be way better. Nope I was wrong. I will be in double by the time it is finished...and I could have been driving for the last 3 years instead of building this thing.

Payton, I know its amazing how many dollars these cars TRULY cost. It takes building one to TRULY find out , huh. LOL.
