Wheel spacer questionable

Hi all, I searched this and didnt find the exact answer I was after so looking for some expertise. I have a Chassisworks subframe to go in a 69 Camaro in the spring. I bought it out if a stalled project and it had the Baer brakes with it. Long story short it will take a 5/16 spacer to keep.the inside spokes from contacting caliper. This is a street only car and I am planning to use 1/2 inch ARP studs. Many have said not to space over 1/4 and wanting to be safe above all else and would go with different brakesif necessary.I cant use adapter type and maintain correct backspacing. Any advice??

I ran a 5/16" spacer for many years with no issues. just have to make sure you torque the wheels correctly and check them ever so often.

With those studs, I wouldn't worry about, just make sure they are long enough.

Your rotor is basically a ~5/16" spacer, right? No worries there. As for an additional spacer, just be sure to use a high-quality, 6061-T6 aluminum spacer and you should be fine. Avoid the cheap die-cast aluminum spacers like the plague...they have the annoying reputation of failing when you least want them to.

Thanks for the replies! I will.go.for.it and use a good quality spacer and studs.
