AAW classic update
Can I run a 1969 classic update in my 68 camaro? My column I an ididit and my gauges will all be auto meter and not in stock locations anyway
What do you guys think? I can get a killer deal on one that's the reason I am asking Thanks Jason |
You can make it work, but the side markers, park signals, and rear taillights, wiper motor switch connections will be different, plus the harness is designed for key column switch, not key in dash switch. The rest is pretty much the same. Unless its free, the extra work will out way the cost of buying the correct one.

I dont have side marker lights I shaved those. I did put in 69 Parking lights in my lower valance and I am running a DSE Wiper motor and Harness. I guess just the key would be the problem
Tail lights are red and I have custom LED Tail lights going in. Sound better haha Quote:

Key is not a big issue, just have to remove the plug and relocate the wires to a dash style key switch. I assume you did not shave the hole in the firewall?

Hole is still there. Thanks for the help. |
The DSE wiper integrates pretty easy into the AAW harness. I can post some pics up in a couple of days (out of town on business). I could scan the ignition switch directions to you if needed.

All you are really integrating from the psi harness to the chassis harness is the key on wire (red) if I remember correctly. The PSI harness has the plug for t56, the rest of the wires should just be for your gauges and a ground wire. My PSI harness was very simple, just had to de-loom it to extend the MAF wire, they send a extra long harness so you can mount it just about anywhere except the trunk. |
Jay here's one issue I ran into. Take a look and let me know if I can answer any questions:
