69 AMX- Mustang Suspension Compatability
I own a 69 AMX which I have plans to do a suspension upgrade and convert to a road race/ street rod. I have looked at the Chassisworks website and their front suspension offerings for 60's mustangs look very similar to my AMX's. Does anyone have any experience using mustang front suspension parts on an AMX?

Why not just do a full frame chassis?

There are quite a few mustangs out there like the one from Maier Racing that use enhanced but stock configuration suspension. And they are tearing it up at the racetrack. I'm not a fan of taking to the body with a sawsall and cutting the body.

You should check this place out. They may have something for you
http://www.freakride.com/product/amx...s-system-copy/ I've seen one amx that had 79-04 mustang suspension on it but don't know much about it. You should also check out jimi days amx there is a build thread on pro-touring.com |

The Control Freaks K-Member uses the Wilwood Pro-Spindle which is a modified Mustang II. The suspension on Jimi's car was all custom built and features a modified aftermarket Camaro front sub. If you really want it to handle like a modern car it is going to take some special attention. The Street Machine crossmember system would be a viable option. There are two different spindle options; traditional steel or billet with unit bearing. |
