IFS - Front Steer vs. Rear Steer
4 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
I'm in the process of building my first PT style car. It's a '66 Fastback that had an R&C kit already installed in it. The issue with this IFS and the windsor engine is the front sump. It's design doesn't allow the engine to be moved back without raising it. However, if the rack can be moved to the rear of the cross member, the engine could easly be moved back the lowered. My question is, what kind of issues am I going to run into if I do this? The current set up has: 225/45/18 8" wheel with 6.25 BS 14" brakes Tire CL of 52.72 Wilwood Spindle -1.5" Scrub As you can see from the mock up, the engine is moved back about 4-5". It's also sitting 4-5" higher in the front and at a 5* angle. Any input or advise would be appreciated. |
My advice,
get a new pan in favor for a rear sump. Your gonna do a lot of modifications that may not work right for a $700 oil pan. |

PUT an LS in it......................:headspin:
