Need some help.....

I have the chance to to purchase an 04 CTS-V engine and trans (5.7/6sp) with 130k miles on the clock can someone chime in and give me a "ball park" figure of what a setup like this would go for? the motor is still in the car I can hear it run, no mods bone stock comes with EVERYTHING, Thinking of putting it into my wagon, Thanks in advance.

The ctsv trans hurts the value some being that the tail shaft makes them more difficult to swap. I paid top dollar for my LS t56 with 43k miles, I gave 4800 complete with wiring computer, all acceasories plus a few little extras. The ctsv has an ls6 which helps the value so I'd guess anything under 4 would be fair, but ls t56 combos seem to be a little high in my area.

Ok so the difficulty lies in the transmission tailshaft? I know that there are a plethora of combos and don't want to bite off more than I can chew with the swap it's going into an A-body I have read and read and read about the many people who have done the swap before me which is some great reading!

Yeah the ctsv is a IRS so the no slip joint in the trans yoke. I am sure there are write ups but I don't know the details if you can install a slip joint.

Could you not get away with putting the slip in the driveshaft? Similar to the offroad community?

Driveshaft Shop can set you up with a CV joint style driveshaft which is actually a good thing because it can tolerate greater driveline angles, up to 9 degrees. Of course it will cost more. AndrewB70 has a writeup in his build thread.

I also think there is a shifter relocation kit out there.
