vintage air?

Little unhappy with there customer service. I have vintage in 8 different cars and is the only company I have used and I need a heater core and they won't sell me one without buying a whole evaporator box for $470.00 ? I'm done I will not go back

That really sucks. If you have a NAPA anywhere close, they still have paper catalogs and the heater cores are listed by dimension in the back... of course you will have to beg to see a paper catalog, then blow the dust off of it...

I am shocked with as much business you have done with them that they won't help you out.

Clearly they have forgotten what customer service really means.

Sad to hear, I also had a less than desirable experience with their tech/sales guys last year. I needed another glove box and an adapter for my center dash vent to finish my install. I found the part numbers out of their catalog and was going to order through Summit. Summit told me that there would be a 3 week lead time for them. I figured I would just call VA and cut out the middle man. Over a 3 week period, I tried calling them and left several voice mails. Never got a return call from the voice mails. I got lucky and got through via phone call one day. The sales guy was ok, but when I said I had left a few voice mails and not received a call back. He said they were "busy". Really.....

The heater core really isn't a service item. The only way to replace the core is to destroy the case as it is all glued together.

No different than many oem parts now. On some applications, you can't replace a ball joint or bushing, you buy the control arm.

I have been going back and forth between Vintage Air and Classic Auto Air for about a year. I have no experience with either company but a good friend of mine is a 30+ year ASE Master mechanic and he has been pushing me toward Classic because he has had bad customer service experience with VA. This thread just reinforces everything he as told me about VA.

Pretty sure Vintage Air makes all the Evp Boxes for their competitors. They own the tooling.

I've had nothing but great service. How old was the heather core?

Thanks Donny, I didn't know it was permanently glued together... and that sucks even more for Bob.

The air box is glued together and I cut around the core and pulled it out had a small leak where the tube sodiers to the main body brazed it up and is good as new. This car has been built about 3 years and not driven much
