exhaust flex couplings

I wanted to get some ideas if anyone thinks it nessary to install flex couplings iam running
A new ss 3" system off kooks headers out of a 600hp na ford windsor iam doing 4 vbands x pipe black widow mufflers, going under the rear and out the sides behind the tires. Do you think it necessary?

It's always recommended to use flex couplings. It allows for heat expansion of the exhaust and will help prevent the tube from cracking over time.

If you use nothing but rubber hangers that'll help reduce the need for the couplers, but we usually run them.

Dale,
Do you have any pictures of a full exhaust that you guys have done?

Necessary no, helpful yes. Unless you mount the exhaust much like the mfg did, you can get engine vibration transmitted through where the exhaust is mounted to the body. SS systems also expand more than steel, so it helps alot to run them, especially if you have hard mounted components then i think it becomes necessary to prevent vibration and cracking.

I used them on my car.

Iam not running any kind of plates. Hes going to use hangers, but iam thinking the flex couplings is just a piece of mind. i dont even want to think about fixing cracks on my new exhaust
