Will a 325/30/19 Tire Work on a DSE Mini Tubbed 3rd Gen Nova
Nova 3rd Gen Mini Tubbed - looking at 325/30/19 Michelin Pilot Sport tire as an example (19X11 Wheel) I hear and see some 335's, I am going a bit smaller hoping for no issues - - Michelin Pilot Sport tire example - This is a street car, driver.
Feedback / questions Please. Thank you |
If you nail the back space it can be done. You may get some rubbing on the inner tub while going into a drive way.
Set to clear 5/8" from the outer quarter lip. There is a raised portion just above the lip that you have to clear but since its a large diameter wheel with a low profile aspect tire you should be fine. I have been closer than that (1/2") with no issues. The only other part you will have to watch is the lower shock mount and bracket. |
Tub it. That other stuff can wait.

I've got an 18x8.5 with a 275 tire on a lowered stock suspension 69 Nova. Rubs a little on the inner, but not bad. Will be mini tubbbing this winter to fit a 335 tire

I will be doing dse tubs and will prob go 19x10, it really all depends on what my budget is at that point.

I have a 73 Nova SS with custom 15 X 8 Rally wheels in the back all tucked with no rubbing issues. But it was not easy with the leaf springs in the stock position. I had to make custom lower spring shackles that moved the shock mounting position up an into the wheel a bit. Took some fiddling but it worked. Of course this was done back in the 90's before I had ever heard of DSE.

I have a 70 with 15x7 and dunlop 255/60/15. When I take any turns with speed the outer lip shaves the side wall. I'm running GM rallys so I'm sure the back spacing is off. I thought I measured it once and only measured roughly 10.5" from lip to inner fender well
