Hydraulic Clutch

So I have a T56 6 Speed in my Camaro with a LS3

The clutch is pretty stiff and when you let it out ig really doesn't give you any feathering. It just kinda grabs. Is that fairly common with this type of throw out bearing?

Seems like the throw is pretty short. Tilton Master with T56 TO Bearing

sounds like the TO bearing is too far away from the clutch teeth....that is how the bearings act when at the end of there throw....put spacers behind the bearing....the bearing is designed to have only 1/2 of premium operational throw(were it works and feels best) the bearing its self should should be about an 1/8th inch (0.125 thousands of an inch) from the clutch fingers

It mounts to the mid plate I think. Does someone sell spacers for that?

Did you adjust the point which the pushrod mounts to the clutch pedal? I think they are somewhat sensitive to the ratio of the pedal...

That's another thing I was thinking about

What Bryan said. I've been fighting the pedal ratio myself. Even 1/4" can make a huge difference in feel, trust me. Another thing to help could be changing your line since if you are using AN lines but changing the pedal ratio is where I'd look first.

Thirded on the pedal ratio. I have the same master and t/o bearing on an LS7 clutch. When I switched from the Fbody GM master to the Tilton the clutch felt like an on/off switch. Double checking everything I realized I aligned it to the incorrect hole and once I fixed that it felt like a normal clutch again. Albeit with shorter throw than the GM master.

the spacers stack behind the throwout....here is a pic there are a few companies that make them...I think all the conversion companies do

How much lower what? The hole on the pedal arm or the pedal itself from shorter throw?
