Major game changer:

very cool vid. When I was in engineering school discussing building engines.... over many beers ...cough cough 25 years ago. We talked about wishing you could use solenoids to control the valves.

You could then potentially change the timing and valve travel. This of course would ultimately be on a per cylinder basis. This means you could potentially make the engine run at a much larger power range and efficiency range.

Problem at the time and possibly currently was that the material tech wasn't there yet. Nor were the computers capable of processing at the required speeds.

This technology is the first steps to reach that goal. Obviously the computers have also advanced dramatically making that aspect most likely poissible too.

There is still some life left in the piston motor yet. So impressed by Koeningsegg!
