I am looking for a set of wheels that will fit a 1970 Cuda.

There are many... you would need to be more specific. Looking for used, new? Budget? Style? What suspension and brakes do you have? Do you know what offset you need? 15", 17", 18"...? How wide? What tires do you want to run.

A '70, unless you have changed it, takes a 5 on 4.5" bolt circle wheel. Some wheels will not fit because the hub snout on the front is a little larger than the "standard" Ford 5x4.5" wheel hub.

Here are mine. Front is 18x9, rear is 18x10. I have enough room to run 18x10 front with a 275/35-18 and 19x12 rear with a 325/30-19. My spindle is the same as yours if you have disk brakes. I am not familiar enough with E bodies to know exact fitments, if you are in North Texas I could help you out.

Sorry I should have but a size. It is still a stock bolt pattern any I would like to get 20" wheels front and back or 19-20". I am trying to find a 20x12 or something along that size. I am going to mini tub it but I would like to find wheels before I cut the body. I attached a pic of what I'm kinda looking for

Are you going to relocate the springs or run a 4-link? Do you know what brakes you will be running? Are you going aftermarket coil over on the front suspension or staying with a torsion bar style? Better to modify the rear, then measure to see what you need. For the front also, once you nail down the suspension and brakes you can figure out the wheels from there. I really do not know what fits on the E-body cars.

I am not sure what I'm going to do on the front yet. This is my first mopar so idk much about the torsion setup but I am going to run a four link on the rear I just thought it would be easiest to cut the wheel wells out and roll tires under and set ride height and then do the math for cutting rear end. But this is my first pro touring car so I'm not 100%. I'm always up to hear good advice and what roughy to do on this car.

Well I guess it depends on what you want from the car. Looks? Performance? How serious on the performance side?

You do not need a 4 link and a coil over front end to perform well. Here is an example of a '71 Challenger (same chassis as your car) with modifications to the stock suspension that does pretty well for itself:

If you are trying to be nationally competitive in the "Pro Touring" events, then that is a different matter entirely.

My car is yet to be on the road, but I have essentially a modified version of the stock suspension with relocated rear springs. The car will handle reasonably well and will fit a 275-35/18 front and will easily fit a 325/30-19 in the rear. My car is smaller than yours but is basically the same suspension. And, I have seen E-body cars with as big as 315s on the front.

What do I all need to do to change over to coil front end like you said? I also need to convert to disk brakes all around. I have so much to do I am trying to do it the best I can on a budget because so much I have to do and I do not want to start out with the best stuff and take 8 years to build the car haha. I just wanna try to make it look cool and drivable down the freeway not a race car. I just can't afford a tube chassis car or anything like that. Damn that would be cool though. I am missing so many parts to my car that alone is going to coast a lot that's why I'm just getting agame plan going on this thing

If you want to do it on a budget you do not have to go to a coil over system front or rear.

Hotchkis makes a kit for the E-body. Does not require you to convert to coil overs on the front, and still uses leafs in the rear.

QA1 makes a bolt in rear "6 link" coil over system. Their front suspension pieces work with the factory style steering box and factory style torsion bars. There are a few sources for performance torsion bars. Mine are made by "Firm Feel". http://www.firmfeel.com/e_body_mopar_parts.html

Borgeson makes a replacement power steering box that gets rave reviews. It has a solid feel and a 14:1 ratio.

For brakes based on the stock setup, I went with Cass Eslick aka Dr Diff.

I am running his Stage IV front brakes upgraded w/ Baer rotors on the front and his 11.7" rear kit also w/ Baer rotors.


If you must go coil over, one of the better kits out there is made by RMS. There are others, but no others that I would recommend. It has been a while since I did any research on the topic.
