Sealing extra 02 bung

I have a couple of 02 bungs in my headers that won't be used.(Not enough room for sensors) When I put the plugs in do I put high temp RTV on the plugs to seal them or something else or nothing? Copper crush washers?

Thanks

Wayne, I went with Mast M90 electronics that only required one O2. My other header, I used an allen head pipe plug and ran it in tite, with nothing on it. I thought about sealant, but wasn't sure anything would hold up very long with header heat. I have no issues at all, although if I needed it to come back out, I'd probably be in trouble.

Put some copper anti seize on it. It will hold up to the heat, but still allow it to come off in the future.

I used the aluminum gasket silicon thay came with my headers

If you don't have a proper plug, the large thread spark plugs work just as well.

I would use a copper crush washer from a banjo fitting. I've used the plugs before and always use a sealing washer, especially if it's upstream of the O2 your using.

If you can't find one, you could grind down the threads on a spark plug and slip the crush washer off. It's the same size as the plug.
