Camaro bodies-Real Deal Steel
 

Would it be better to get a complete body or restore mine which needs quarters, floors, fenders, doors, minitub, etc. It seems cheaper than having a body shop perform all this. I know there is a jig for 1st gen Camaro but this company has a jig for every area to keep car in tolerance. I am unsure which way to go. Obviously would like the best resilts at the least amount of issues and surprises. I watched the video at Real Deal Steel and it is impressive. Any input would be awesome.

I can't speak to Real Deal's Camaro but I can talk of their 57 Chevy & the car had to be cut apart because the panels didn't line up at .

If you were coming to my shop I would advise you to use your car or be prepared to buy theirs then fix their body.

If you're paying for labor, you will be better ahead to start with a solid car. You can pick up a solid 70-73 for around $10k to $20k depending on the car. If you dive into a car that needs everything replaced, you're looking at hundreds of hours in labor and in the end you'll have a made in China camaro

Any recommendations on a body shop around St.Louis, MO? AMD installation center looks great for the sheet metal installation.

Another place to consider that I have heard good things about is Muscle Car Metal. I don't have any direct experience with them, but there are a couple people over on Team Camaro Tech that have used these shells from Tony. I wish I had known about them before we ended up replacing so much of the sheet metal on my firebird as it would have been a better starting point, or at least maybe sped up the process. His are refurbished originals, so they come with titles.
