2nd Gen Camaro carbon/glass body parts?
Hi All,
I asked this question a couple years ago, but got sidetracked with suspension and frame work and never followed up... So I'll ask again; Who makes aftermarket body pars for 1970-73 Camaros? Anvil Carbon Kustoms US Body Source Unlimited Products Art Fiberglass Harwood Showcars Unlimited I prefer carbon/epoxy resin if possible. Interested in any exterior and interior products... Can anyone comment on any of these? Or add to the list? Thanks, Brad |

Well the only company I can comment on is Anvil. Their products are on my 70 Camaro. This is the only time I have been exposed to much carbon fiber stuff and I'm not really impressed. Now I must clarify that my stuff is at least 7 yrs old and installed by the previous owner and it is fiber laminate over fiberglass.
I have a hood that has a bow in it front to back. And the hood, front fender liners, and rear deck panel have all developed gray spots in them. I have discussed this with Anvil and they stated that they have improved their quality substantially since my stuff was made. The also stated that excess heat tends to cause the graying. But there is substantial weight savings by going this route. Just depends on your goal. Here is another supplier of carbon pieces. Don't know who makes them. Although I think this person would be particular of the quality. http://www.customworksperformance.ne...ass-parts.html |
I think that shows the difference in Chinese and american made parts. I'm thinking that I would rather have an American made part made from cheaper materials as opposed to a Chinese epoxy/carbon part...

Here is the Carbon Kustoms hood on #ProjectRedDawn. The fitment was great and it is pretty darn sturdy. We've been 150+ mph with it on the Fontana Roval. Gopro video shows it held its shape the whole time.
