Solid body mount question

To all:

I am going to use the solid body mounts for my F-Body.

I have a choice of stock height or one half in shorter.

I was thinking however minor it might help, lowering the weight of the car would work to help improve the handeling.

Is there any known problems with this idea?

Does it change the fitting on anything else potentially?

Thanks in advance,

tyoneal

Depending on the drop, you'll most likely run into interference problems in the tunnel.

When using the 1/2" shoter mounts:

I have heard rumors of fan to shroud clearence problems, if running a mechanical fan, and steering column to steering box alignment problems, if running stock type steering box and rag joint.

I dont know this for a fact, maybe someone can confirm, or deny these.

Not worth the potential problems that could come up IMO.

I went with stock height for this reason. Also FYI, if you are using subframe connectors that bolt in under the rear body mounts; to keep things aligned they will need to be shorter than the front mounts to compensate for the thickness of the connector itself. Global West does supply the shortened mounts with their connectors.
