Enlarging Rotor center holw
1 Attachment(s)
So my baer rotor won't fit over the moser axle register. has anyone opened the rotor center hole before? gonna find a machine shop to do this for me. but just wanted to see if anyone had run into this issue before.

Been there done that

Yes, I had to open the hole for my Moser axles. I also had some issues with the park brake drum inside the rotor that I had to fix. Different rotor than yours, single piece but it came from Baer with the SS4 rear kit.

Haven't seen it in a while but it's happened to us before;
Pretty cheap to have a machine shop open it up a bit! -Dale |

I’d mess with the rotors before the axles. Your next set of rotors may fit fine but if you turn down the axle....

Thanks guys Looks like it was built for willwood rear brakes when it should have been Baer. So I may open the rotor up to the 3.060 hub. just want to check with baer that it will not affect the hub at all.

Baer brakes
got same issue. just got new brakes in. DSE rear end with moser axles in it. Bought the baer brakes with drum in middle. The rotors are too small for the axle center. Got to do a machine run on them.

I dealt with this same issue once back about 10 years ago.
Baer rotors, Moser axles. After a couple phone calls, Rick Elam from Baer had me ship my axles to Baer Brakes to machine the axles instead of the rotors. Why? Because my axle registers were different diameters by about .010”. Rick assured me that he would have them machined so future rotors would all fit (from Baer of course). I honestly don’t know what is best, just wanted to share.., |
