New 12 bolt pinion seal leaks
While I was replacing the transmission and drive shaft I thought I would replace my rear pinion seal on my 12 bolt in my 72 Camaro. Well it leaks more now than when I replaced it, I will replace it again but what I'm I missing? It has been on the lift since I replaced it and it has not been out on the road does it need some road time to seal better??
Thanks |

On another forum they said to use the Raytech seal, anyone use those?

Hope that link works. I find Freddie (big gear head) is always right. He built rears for a living in his shop for like 40 years |

Well then...I’ll try the Ratech seal instead of the spacer mod.

Great find. Thanks to all that have added to this thread. This should be a STICKY

I 2nd spacing the seal. I rebuild driveline for a living, this has been a problem for some time. I machined a spacer for my car years ago. Customers, I use C4 C6 square cut servo seal to space the away for the bearing.
