Brake Clamping Force Help
So there was a slight mishap with my Forgeline wheels that due to fitment has limited me to utilizing Wilwood Forged Narrow Super Lite Calipers (6 Piston Front, 4 Piston Rear) and 14" rotors. My original plan was to run Baer 6P calipers on all 4 corners but, those are no longer an option.
So in short my brake system will consist of: Hydratech Hyrdoboost Baer 1-1/8 Remaster Master Cylinder Wilwood Forged Narrow Superlite 6P 14" Front Wilwood Forged Narrow Superlite 4P 14" Rear The wilwood calipers are available in a range of piston areas so my question is what is everyone's thoughts on my setup and if I need to tweak anything. I have tried to find a calculator to help with braking force to see if I am where I need to be, but the boost unit is making it hard for me to determine what I need to do. |
I didn't do any math but can tell you from experience that with a proper hydroboost setup the 4.04" calipers will be fine in the front.......and I would be tempted to run the 2.46" in the rears.
Tell us more about your cars intended use and tire brand and sizes. |
Aggressively driven street car. I doubt it will see the track.
18x9.5 up front 19x12 in rear Using Michelin Pilot Super Sport 275 front, 325 rear |
From my experience with Wilwood 4.04” and 2.46” calipers and manual brakes, I can pretty much guarantee that a similar brake set up with hydroboost would be pretty insane.
