wiring for fuel pump/sender

Hey All, looking to add a weatherpack quick connector to the wiring coming from my tanks inc fuel pump and sending unit. Can you recommend the correct gauge wire I should using for each? make to make it like a foot long or so.

Ultimately wire size goes by amp load. Looks like Tanks calls for #12 wire to the pump. The sender wires are probably smaller, I would just match the size they have coming off the sensor. A step bigger is fine but I don't go smaller.

I’ve been overthinking the best style of connector to use for the sending unit. What have you guys done?
