68 Camaro - front susp. Drop Spindles?
Tried searching but couldnt find my answers.. Sorry
Im in the process of getting my DSE minitubs done and Ridetech 4-link with Shockwave is on the way. Im looking to order new wheels and tires for this setup and have some questions for the front end - so they match. What is the biggest 18 wheel and tire i can fit without rubbing the fenders? Frame rubbing won't bother me. Are drop spindles generally used or is front end height set with stock size spindles and coilovers? I dont think i can use the shockwave on the front with my stock control arms.. Thanks guys |
I highly, highly, recommend getting an aftermarket front subframe for a first gen Camaro. Especially a 67 or 68. They don't have much room for wide tires up front and you sacrifice handling. A 255x18 is about the limit & even that will rub at full lock.
With rear minitubs you can probably run a 315 rear tire and probably even a 335. But you will have terrible terrible understeer due to lack of front tire width. |
