LS7 in a 67 chevelle

Well it looks like I am going to go for different. I am going to go LS7 with Katech cam and programing. Will yield about 630hp and 590 Ft lbs. Sould run well...

The all Alunimum engine should reduce weight greatly and the different factor is there. I can't decide if I was T56 - TKO 600 or 200r4 and going out back with 3.73. Anyways heres where I need some help.

With the dry sump and pan clearance will this fit without modification of my frame? I know you can get oil pans for the wet sump LS based engines with the necessary clearance adjustments. Will the LS7 need modification or is there a company that has products for this procedure?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Going to start on thisend of April and trying to gather parts list together to plan for this whole build...

Blessings:lateral:

I beleive ATS has everything your going to need, I have only heard good things about their parts/people.

The stock pan should work. ATS makes motor mounts that let you mount the original style mount to the LS7. Chevelles have front steering gear so there shouldn't be any interference with the pan. Not to say that you couldn't still switch it to a wet sump if you wanted to. sounds like another cool project. Keep us updated. I've had 2 67 Chevelles, definetely the best year IMO!

Hi!

Cool choice, I´ve been thinking of that engine too for my ´67.
Can you estimate the totalcost for everything?

Lets see, you'll need the motor (I'd assume a crate motor which doesn't include any accessories like PS pump or alternator), an ECM, harness, (possibly the fly by wire accelerator, depending on whether you go OEM ECM or aftermarket), dry sump tank, adapter motor mounts, LS7 specific headers... Add that all up, and you'll get an idea on total cost.

Expensive is definately the word... I am now actually looking at going to Turn Key engine Supply's crate with cam and ECM upgrade.

I can get all accessories. ECM, starter and fly wheel. I just hope the stock pan on the LS7 will clear. Different is definately more expensive. Thanks for the advise for ATS looks like they will work.

I really wanted to do a 700hp motor, but I hope 630hp will get me into the high 10's and just plain haul butt. Thanks for all the advice. If anyone else has somemore feedback or suggestions, please advise.... Thanks Guys:bow:
