Are you guys planning on welding the actual tab and slots on the sides of the rails? I work with a lot of sheetmetal structures at Caterpillar and we have found that making the tab half the thickness or a little more of the rail material so someone can plug weld the tab and slot and then grind flush. To give it a smooth finished looked. If you guys already planned to do that already then sorry to repeat. BTW great work!  |
Great Idea, we are playing with having the tabs on the bulkheads flush to make assembly easier. When the tabs are flush with the outside it tells us how well it fit up on the inside.
