I think going from such an intense all consuming life to being out of the spot light and leading a " mundane" day to day life is too much for some of these guys

Totally agree 1000%!!
I think after they no longer scream your name and there is no more glitz and glamour, many of them cannot cope. It's a reality check and is hurtful when they're out in the public and a kid 15 years old and majority of the ladies probably doesn't recognize them.
