The Innovator was actually sold to RK Motors for the cash number plus another vehicle on trade. RK buys and sells high end pro-touring cars and hot rods. If you take a look at their web site you will see many very familiar cars that they have either sold, or currently have for sale.
The owners car direction has changed and moved seriously into the track day stuff. He has had several European supercars and has been bit pretty hard by the racing bug. He purchased a BMW M3 all out track car and has been doing a ton of track day events. He is a muscle car guy at heart and was never too thrilled about showing up with a Bimmer. So, about 6 months ago we started building another all out track car for him based on a 2nd gen Camaro.
He loved the Innovator, but it was obviously not something that can be taken out and tracked regularly. So, the decision was made to put it up for sale and start building another car that fit his new desires.

So RK bought the car from the guy you built it for, RK then sold it at their auction, and whomever bought the car at auction put it back up for sale? Or did RK not actually sell it at their auction?
