Yes you can use a VFD to run a three phase motor with single phase power. You must buy the correct VFD drive for the proper current input and load, and voltage. Unless you have a VFD already that will work, you are fine, but if you have to buy a VFD , you should do the math and see if it is cheaper to buy a used motor instead.
