personally id keep it below
[email protected] and the ls at 110 and run a roller cam, with some good flowing heads you should break 650 on pump gas, and for 500 ponies you could do an off the shelf edelbrock... but i wouldnt.. what i would do on the other hand is ditch the idea of a vacuum pump and install a hydraulic brake booster... i have one in my 66 impala SS and it is a world better than the stock 11 inch booster.. (and it works with what ever cam you throw in there)
