Default too much for pump?

somebody with more experience please help. im spec'n out this 500ci mopar and i have like zero experience with carb'd motors. so we were planning on like a 850cfm carb.. like an msd dis 4 ignition. 10.5:1 c/r with aluminum heads and cam card looks something like a lunati voodoo .585/.600 249/255 and 108ish seperation. im thinking that may a little extreme for a street car that will only run on pump gas.. even with a vaccum pump. car is manual trans. and only trying to get to a tad over 6k in it. aluminum mild ported intake manifold. but maybe i should step down to sat 112ish seperation on something like .480/.495 at 238/246 which is an edelbrock performer rpm. anythoughts. looking for 500hp on 93pump and desktop dyno says 1st combo is good for 674ish.. awesome. any thoughtS?

Not such a horable request. At least your not a boat guy these are my favorite 3 requests from boat guys, it has to make 1000hp it has to run over 100mph and it has to run on pump gas!! and usually in there is how much again. and it has to make more quarter mile passes in one day than any race car will ever see in a year. AS to your question your compression is low you have aluminum heads the 108 cl has bleed you wont have any problem on 93 octane the det rate will be low, sounds like a cool project good luck.

personally id keep it below [email protected] and the ls at 110 and run a roller cam, with some good flowing heads you should break 650 on pump gas, and for 500 ponies you could do an off the shelf edelbrock... but i wouldnt.. what i would do on the other hand is ditch the idea of a vacuum pump and install a hydraulic brake booster... i have one in my 66 impala SS and it is a world better than the stock 11 inch booster.. (and it works with what ever cam you throw in there)
