I had the same feeling, so what did I do after my painter urged me to go with base clear?
yep, we painted it Candy. I could never have pictured it any different. I don't want to discourage you, just wanted to let you know of some of the headaches with it.
I'm just going to drive my car now until the paint falls off, then repaint it sometime down the road. Probably candy again
