thanks for the help musclerodz, the car is a 1941 ford buss. coup with a 68 camaro front clip and 12 bolt rear end. the chassis has been cross braced and welded up like a son of a gun. there is a little play in the steering system, we just installed a new colum a couple of months ago. before we put the new tires and wheels on there was alot of rake in it but i think that was to do with the large rears and small skinnies that used to be in the front. with the 18's it sits better, could that be the part of the problem, to much rake?
