Great looking truck! I've been thinking about building a long bed a lot lately. Though it would be a 4x4. To me, the long beds look better than the short beds when lifted.

It has been awhile since I updated this thread. The truck is done and a blast to drive. The 4.56 rear gears are not the best, I'm in 3rd by the end of my driveway. I ran the exhaust up through a cross member to get it around the rear end and suspension links, and I think it turned out pretty cool. The rear end has since been cleaned up and painted, ignore the crusty picture. I'm liking the long box for hauling stuff.

Work has been slow so I've had lots of time to play with cars. I decided to re-visit the 70 C10 ( my first car). Started with removing the cab to fix some rot. It felt weird digging into a painted car but making them right is a good thing.

I also decided to make the truck a short box and swap the big block for a new crate LS3 525. Rydell Chevrolet ships free and delivers in my area daily, it's just too easy.

If you decide to go with Holley EFI, please keep me in mind for tuning.
