Default New addition to the family -'69 Dodge R/T 440 Convertible

For Christmas, I gave my Dad a new addition to the family. (yeah, yeah. I know. You'll all say what a nice son, but the catch is he has to pay me back for it! Well, it's 1/2 his, 1/2 mine) A '69 Dodge Coronet R/T convertible, 440 Ramcharger. I've had it a couple weeks, but didn't want to let the cat out of the bag, so kept it under wraps. Chevy runs in my blood (literally), so I never have jumped into MOPARS. Always loved the MOPAR P/T builds though. Im surprised how much this is growing on me. It is a really fun car. Especially for a bone stock car. But, against my nature, it will remain original, due to its rarity.

It's the first time I have seen him speechless. My father is not a car addict like I am. He just likes to drive em. Unfortunately, that means I will do all the work, etc, etc. But it is fun to have in "the collection" - (Thats what I call it now that I have more than 1 car. )

All stock. It will stay that way. Except maybe some bigger tires/wheels. I'm studying wheel/tire sizes now. If we do anything, we need to be able to "unbolt" it to return to original due to the rarity of the car.

"help" is an understatement! Since I'm ignorant to MOPARS, I would not have done it without ya.

It looks real similar to 68 coronet ragtop we are building to debut at Grand National Roadster show. We are re-creating Mr. Norm's dealer demo... Bright red with white interior..

Thanks

Great car! Awesome body lines. I am a ragtop man, so I love that too. I remember when I was a teenager in the seventies, my friend had a collection of Hot Rod Mags. There was one with an ad for a 69 Coronet. I loved the car. It was a blue hard top. They advertised a rediculously low quarter mile time. I don't remember what the time was, but it seems like it was in the 11's. I also lean much more toward the P/T type driving though. Have fun with it!
