Default Another Ford project- MERCURY CONVERTIBLE

I know I am a minority amongst you GM guys/gals. Here's another project I started. It is a 1962 Mercury Convertible. The drawing was done by Ben Hermance. It is not the actual colors being used but gives you a general idea of what it will look like. The frame started out with an X brace in the middle before I began. Pics are a little big.

How far down from the frame does the body hang? It looks like some ants may be getting a haircut!

The body is fairly flush with the bottom of the frame. The pic of the V8 can is with the bags fully deflated.

If you have to drive a Ford, it helps to have a cool one like that!
Just kidding, I have nothing against Fords.
That is a very cool car and will be one of a kind for sure!
What are the plans for the drive train?

awesomeness, That is a sweet looking start to your project. I like ford people. I own two and have 5 SBFs in my garage.

Nothing wrong with a Ford

Actually, I don't care what's on the nameplate! In addition to my Olds project, I drive my 1989 asc/McLaren convertible. I also have an '86 Colony Park wagon, but I'm not sure that counts!

Shiny Side Up!

Drivetrain will be stock for now. I have a freshly built Ford FE motor/trans out of another car I had I am putting in. Will have headers and a Tri-power intake.

Nice build, Looks like some serious cooling you got there.
I'm a Camaro guy but I learned to love cars from riding with my older brother in my father's 57 Farelane 500 with the T Bird 512 in it doing a buck ten over the bridge near my house. I loved it , My father not so much. Keep the posts coming.
