Default Fun weekend with the Trans Am

My wife and I had to go to a wedding up in Virginia over the weekend, which ordinarily would suck, but we actually had a good time. Our son is 8 months old now, so my in-laws watched him for the weekend while we went to the wedding, so it was a nice quiet weekend.

We decided to take the 98 Trans Am since the weather was nice and we don't get to drive it together much with the little guy, so we kicked it out Saturday morning for the 3 hour drive up to VA. It was a nice drive, only about 30 minutes of it was on the interstate, the rest was on smaller 2-lanes.

We had a blast, t-tops down, hauling ass through backroads, etc. Every on/off ramp was a challenge to see how fast we could go through it and every dashed yellow line was an excuse to pass that slow truck at double the speed limit. It was great.

At one point on the way home I was coming down a long straight stretch with no one behind me and a slow car in front of me. I kicked it up to about 90 and passed him and about a minute later I noticed a Corvette sitting behind him. Weird, he wasn't there a second ago.

About 2 seconds later he hauls ass past both of us and I realize it is a new Z06. Holy **** that sucker was fast. I was doing about 80 at that point and he just roared past me like I was lapped traffic.

I will say it again though, my car will handle like it is on rails, but it rides like crap. BMR lowering springs, Bilstein shocks, SFCs, and big 18x9.5 wheels with low profile tires makes for a great handling car, but comfortable for road trips it is not!
