OUCH!!! Which one did you wreck? I seen that car at Goodguys in Nashville last year. It was one slick ride. Hang in there things will work out.

Oh man that would F*** up my day. If her insurance pays you for it will you buy it back for the usable parts or just let them have it? Hate to see old schools go out like that. Especially when they wreck them for movies. I hope everything goes your way.

in the middle of one now , a 47 droptop that was hit in the rear . the owner has state farm and the insured has shelter . 40k plus damage .
just find a good shop that will help write the estimate that has a reputation with the insurance co that you are working with . ask the adjuster where he recomends you to take it to have it estimated .and tell him you might want him to fix the car so estimate it like he is fixing the car . after that find the shop you trust to estimate it , then see what the numbers look like .
from what i see , i see more than 7 k damage .

but you have to remember that they only owe you for what you had pre- accident , so if the paint was fadded ,chipped ,scratched or rusted , dont expect a complete new paint job on the complete car . if the fender was rusted in the bottom they only owe you for a like, kind, quality fender .

i might see travisb and have him jump in on this and see if he has any ideas .he is a adjuster for a national insurance co.
and i run a 15 man body shop for a ford dealer and a streetrod shop .

didn't you have an agreed value policy on this car? If so, turn it over to them to handle. If not, you may be in for a fight. I cannot stress enough how important it is to get a true agreed value policy for these older cars (not State Farm, Allstate, etc.). A regular insurance company will find comps much lower than your real value and you'll be hard-pressed to get them to accept your value.

By the way, even though it wasn't your fault you ought to have your insurance company involved and fighting for you, that's what they get paid for.

they claimed the car a total loss, and it is. The dash is wrinklied up and the aftermarket subframe pushed threw the floor where i was sitting.
And yes i will keep the car for the salvageable parts. From what i have been told they should replace what i had, but i was trying to have and updated ratrod style nova and the ones with original paint and unmolested are getting harder to find. This car had all latemodel drive train , mini tubbed, tci front clip.......and so on. Everything was replaced except for the paint.
She hit me in the drivers side and i was doing 50-55 mph and it sent me into the telephone pole.

I wouldnt be worried about getting the insurance money if i was hit in my Nova, i would be more worried about the murder charges against me!

Beat them down in court.. sometimes its the only way.

Research what Novas like yours are going for.. you were wronged and you need to be "made whole"

Since it was her fault you should be in a great position legally. The key will be to show what the real-world value of the car was.

And then there's that "pain and suffering" suit
