Default 15 year old vehicle import ban

Our awesome government is trying to stop the importation of old cars to Canada, here is a link to the proposed law and complaint form

http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/impor...15yearrule.htm

http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/impor...contact-us.htm

Please do your part in allowing us to be able import old cars/export cars if you live in the US and want a Canadian buyer.

Leave it up to the Government to protect us from ourselves.

it never ceases to amaze me how the human race ever made it to the year 2008 with out all the safety rules we now have................ perhaps as a race we are just getting that STUPID that we need the government to protect us

Before this thread gets locked....Mecom is pointing out what our friends up north should be hopping mad about.

Sad to see such a great country head in such a wrong direction.

Actually.... your future maybe brighter than you think. I have heard through the grape vine that if Hillary looses her run for President, she is going to head up there for her run at Prime Minister. She said she is qualified because she has some Canadian friends.........

if you read the link OLD cars are never a problem. its the newer cars they want to stop. We currently can import any vehicle over 15 years old. they want to change it to match the US which is 25 years old and older are allowed. BC is driving this push as we are getting alot of HIGH quality imports from Japan right now that are low kms and almost mint and DIESEL!. in turn alot of people are buying these rather than new cars from the lots and the dealers are putting alot of pressure on the local govt. to change the laws so they can sell their ****ty cars!

Ignorant : definition : Someone who talks about something he knows NOTHING about.

case in point : Our current government is about as conservative as you can get. Our Prime Minister does not believe in climate change, and he also believes that all problems can be solved with stiffer jail sentences and more guns. He is also deeply in the pocket of big oil companies. Does he remind you of someone?

The reason for the import ban is that most imports coming into our country now are RIGHT HAND DRIVE vehicles from Japan. It has NOTHING to do with any perceived socialism. It is really wierd becuase usually I have found people on this site very curious and wanting to know more about things before shooting their mouth off. As for a country going in the wrong direction just look at yourselves. How much money have you spent on an illegal, immoral war that has maimed many of your fellow citizens ?

I will take socialism ANYtime over facism and corporatism. And if you think I am anti-american, you are so wrong. I watched CAptain Kangaroo every morning when I was small and used to pledge allegiance to the flag. I like America, and Americans. I feel sorry that your country was taken over by the neo-cons that keeps people xenephobic and afraid of everything that is not like them

Sorry for the rant but what would you do if someone started bad-mouthing your country. Yeah, I thought so.

By the way, don't break a leg, you may get bankrupted! And for the record, I don't like Hillary either, she is a panderer and a demagogue......

The sad thing is ive been to american and canadian hospitals, and the emergency room in cancun mexicos hospital was better service and attention then both countries. The funny thing about the 15 year old rule is what happens if a canadian wants to import a car from america that was made in canada? I think we can all agree both of our governments best interests are their own and they dont care about the average citizen.
