Has anyone ere had an engine made by Kenny Duttweiler?

If so, what type was it?

How did it run?

What was your experience with his company?

Thanks,

Ty

I've met and talked to Kenny on 2 occasions at a friend's shop. Nice guy, very knowledgeable. He's been at the turbo & EFI thing for years and has forgot more than most people probably know.

My friend also had a car with a Duttweiler engine at his shop for a while, it was a 420ci SBF with twins in an older (late 80's) Haas Pro-Stock chassis. It ran in the mid 6's and was extremely reliable, hardly anything needed to be checked during a raceday. Didn't spin too many RPM's because of the boost so it was pretty easy on the valvetrain. Neat car. Did absolutely wicked burnouts out in the street in front of his shop.

I appreciate your experience with a Duttweiler Engine. I've read nothing but good things about them, especially about his Supercharged LS2. I've read he has crate engines, but he has no web page that I know of and I haven't found anyone who sells his products.

Most everything I do on line is in the middle of the night, so I don't always find it easy to call during regular hours.

Anyway, thanks for the information.

Regards,

Ty O'Neal

Anyone else have any experience first hand or second hand?

That is the exact feeling I had when I called. He has a good reputation but he is so busy he probably feels he doesn't have to diligently tend to his business phone lines. When asking questions, the lady on the line told me she was his wife and new nothing about engines.

He was shouting his answers to her across the room as she covered the phone and yelled my questions to him LOL. She apologized for doing this and explained she now answers the phone since they are so busy. Nevertheless, I probably would have still done business with him since his reputation is solid.

Thanks for time the time answering. Since I plan fairly far out as to have all the money together and do the research, I'll definitely have him on the, "Short", list when I get ready to order.

I'l try and get a call into him pretty quick and get some pricing information, and find out what his lead time is.

Thanks again.

Ty
